About Us
  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
    • A Plus Moving Group provides transparent pricing but it’s important for customers to understand how their pricing works, including potential discounts, fees, and the difference between binding and non-binding estimates. Pricing Overview: Discounts and Offers: A Plus Moving Group offers discounts such as a military discount for service members. They may also run promotions, such as free storage for one month when certain services are booked. Additional Fees: Trip Charges: These are fees based on the distance the movers need to travel to reach your location. Packing Materials: If you need boxes and packing supplies, you may be charged for them unless you provide your own. Binding vs. Non-Binding Estimates: Binding Estimate: This is a firm price that won’t change, no matter what happens during the move. The cost you’re quoted is what you will pay. Binding estimates are usually based on the weight and size of your belongings and the distance of the move. Non-Binding Estimate: A non-binding estimate is an approximation of the cost. The final cost could be higher or lower than the estimate depending on the actual weight, time, or distance of the move. This type of estimate gives flexibility but can result in surprise costs if the move takes longer or involves more items than expected. It's important to confirm which type of estimate you're getting before the move to avoid unexpected charges. If you’re unsure, you can always reach out to A Plus Moving Group directly for clarification on their pricing model.
  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
    • 1. Initial Consultation: Customer contacts the moving company with details like the origin, destination, and size of the move. A non-binding estimate is provided, which is an approximate cost based on distance, time, and item volume. 2. Estimate Creation: The company may conduct a virtual or in-person survey to refine the estimate, though the final cost can still vary based on actual weight and time. 3. Booking the Move: After agreeing on the estimate, the customer books the move and signs a contract, understanding the price may change. 4. Moving Day: Movers arrive, inventory is taken, and items are packed, loaded, and weighed. The final weight and time may lead to an adjusted final cost. 5. Delivery and Final Bill: After delivery, the customer reviews and pays the final amount, which may differ from the initial estimate. 6. Post-Move: Feedback is requested, and any claims for damages or missing items can be filed. The key is understanding that a non-binding estimate is a rough figure, and the final price could change based on actual conditions.
  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
    • At A Plus Moving Group, almost 70% of all movers have received their CID (Commercial Identity) license, demonstrating that they are professionally trained and authorized to provide moving services. This license ensures that the movers adhere to industry standards for safety, reliability, and legal compliance. Additionally, all movers are uniformed, which promotes a professional appearance and helps customers easily identify them. Their training typically covers: Safe and efficient moving practices Proper handling of fragile or valuable items Customer service skills to ensure a smooth experience Knowledge of relevant moving and transportation laws and regulations This level of training and certification, coupled with the high percentage of movers holding a CID license, ensures that A Plus Moving Group's team is highly qualified to handle long-distance relocations and provide quality service.
  • How did you get started doing this type of work?
    • The owner of A Plus Moving Group started from humble beginnings, initially working as a regular helper on moving jobs in Manhattan. Over time, through hard work and dedication, they gained extensive experience in the moving industry. Their commitment and skills led to an opportunity to manage operations, and today, they oversee moving services across all 48 contiguous states, plus Hawaii and Alaska. This journey from hands-on experience to running a nationwide operation reflects the owner's deep understanding of the moving business and their passion for providing excellent service. This growth has allowed the company to expand and serve customers across the U.S., ensuring quality and reliable moving services for both local and long-distance moves.
  • What types of customers have you worked with?
    • Over the years, A Plus Moving Group has worked with a diverse range of customers across the United States, gaining extensive experience in handling various types of moves. This includes: Residential customers: Individuals and families moving locally, across states, or to/from Hawaii and Alaska. Commercial clients: Businesses and offices requiring relocation of equipment, furniture, and supplies. Specialty moves: Handling fragile, high-value, or bulky items, such as antiques, art, and heavy machinery. With this vast experience, A Plus Moving Group is well-equipped to handle any type of customer or move. However, it’s important for customers to understand the company's philosophy, which focuses on transparency, efficiency, and excellent customer service. By aligning with this approach, customers can expect a smooth, professional moving experience tailored to their specific needs.
  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
    • A recent project we’re particularly proud of took place in early March 2025. This long-distance move involved over 17,000 lbs of goods, requiring a team of 5 movers at the pickup location and 4 movers at the delivery site. In addition to the moving team, our driver handled the transport, driving from Point A to Point B, managing the journey over several days. The move took 5 days in total, including the time for loading, the long-distance drive, and unloading at the final destination. This project was especially rewarding because of the complex coordination involved, including managing the long drive, heavy lifting, and ensuring the goods arrived safely and on time. The customer was extremely satisfied with the efficient service, and it was a great example of how our team works together to handle large, challenging moves with professionalism and care.
  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
    • If you're looking to hire a moving provider, my advice would be to choose a company located within 150 miles of your pickup location for local moves. This can help you start early and offer flexibility with scheduling. However, if your move is long-distance (over 500 miles), it’s best to work with a company that specializes in this type of relocation. A Plus Moving Group specializes in moves over 500 miles, ensuring that we can efficiently handle the logistics, timing, and coordination needed for longer-distance moves. When hiring a moving provider, ensure they have the right experience for your specific needs, whether it’s a local or long-distance move. Clear communication and experience with larger distances are key to making your move as smooth as possible.
  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
    • Before talking to professionals about their moving project, customers should think through the following questions: 1. What’s the size and weight of the move? Consider how much you’re moving—are you just relocating a few items, or is it a full home or office move? This helps the moving company understand the scope of the project. 2. What is the destination, and how far is it? Since regulations and rules differ by state, understanding the full route, especially when crossing state lines, is important. Each state may have different requirements, tolls, permits, or fees. 3. Do you need special services? Will you need packing, crating for fragile items, or storage? Knowing your additional requirements will help the moving company provide a more accurate estimate. 4. What’s your timeline? Are there any time constraints, such as needing to move by a specific date? This helps in planning the move and understanding if the company can meet your needs. 5. Are you aware of the regulations involved? Especially for long-distance moves, be aware that moving across state lines involves a lot of regulations. Each state has its own rules, and delays can happen due to differing laws and requirements. 6. Do you have any flexibility with pricing or moving dates? If you’re working within a tight budget or schedule, it’s important to communicate any flexibility in pricing or timing. 7. What’s your understanding of the moving estimate? Understand whether you’re receiving a binding or non-binding estimate and what could affect the final cost. Being prepared with answers to these questions can help make the conversation smoother and ensure that the moving company has all the information to provide a realistic and detailed plan for your move. And remember, things can happen during a long-distance move—especially when state lines and varying regulations are involved—so having a flexible mindset is key.
