  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
    • A recent project I’m particularly proud of involved helping a homeowner who was dealing with a persistent rodent problem in the exterior of their property. They had noticed signs of rodent activity around their foundation, and they were concerned about potential entry points leading into their home. After conducting a thorough inspection, we identified several areas around the exterior, including gaps in the foundation and vents, where rodents could enter. We implemented a comprehensive rodent control plan that included treating sealing all potential entry points (burrows), setting up rodent bait stations around the perimeter, and placing traps in high-traffic areas. The project took a day for the initial setup after proper inspection, treating and sealing, burrows/entry points, as well as bait stations to ensure everything was in place. We followed up with the homeowner a 2 weeks later to make sure the problem was resolved, and they reported no further rodent sightings. The project was particularly rewarding because not only did we stop the rodents from entering the home, but we also provided the homeowner with long-term protection by addressing the root causes of the problem.
  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
    • When hiring a pest control provider, it’s important to choose someone who not only has the right experience but also prioritizes transparency and customer service. Here are a few key pieces of advice: 1. Look for Licensing and Certification: Make sure the provider is fully licensed and certified to operate in your area. This ensures they follow local regulations and have the necessary training to handle pest control safely and effectively. 2. Ask About Experience with Your Specific Issue: Different pests require different treatments. Whether you’re dealing with rodents, termites, or bedbugs, it’s important to hire a provider who has specific experience dealing with your particular pest problem. 3. Request a Detailed Plan and Estimate: A good provider will offer a detailed inspection and clear explanation of their treatment plan, including the costs. This should include any follow-up visits, as pest control is often an ongoing process. 4 . Prioritize Customer Service and Communication: Choose a provider who is responsive and easy to communicate with. You want a team that’s available to answer your questions and offers ongoing support, not just a quick fix.
  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
    • Before reaching out to a pest control professional, it’s helpful to think through a few key questions to ensure the process goes smoothly and you get the best results: 1. What type of pest are you dealing with? Identifying the pest or pests causing the problem is essential. Different pests require different treatment methods, so understanding whether you’re dealing with rodents, termites, bedbugs, ants, or another issue will help guide the professional’s approach. 2. Where have you noticed the pest activity? Take note of where you've seen pests (e.g., inside your home, around the exterior, in the attic) or any signs of damage. This will help the professional assess the scope of the problem and plan a targeted approach. 3. How severe is the infestation? Consider how long the issue has been going on and how widespread it seems. A minor issue may only need preventive treatment, while a more severe infestation could require more intensive measures. 4. Have you taken any previous steps to address the issue? If you've already tried some DIY solutions or other pest control methods, it’s helpful to share what you've done so far. This gives the professional a better understanding of the situation and avoids duplicate efforts. 5. Are you looking for a one-time treatment or ongoing service? Some pest control issues can be resolved in a single treatment, while others may require regular follow-ups. Think about whether you need a one-time fix or a long-term prevention plan. 6. What is your budget? Pest control prices can vary based on the type of service, the severity of the problem, and the size of your property. Having a general idea of your budget will help the professional recommend services that fit your needs. By considering these questions ahead of time, you’ll be able to provide the professional with the information they need to offer you the best advice and solution for your situation.
